Be Your Own Designer with Book Editing Software
One of the great advantages of our current age of technological advancement is that now, more than ever, more people have access to technologies such as the computer and consequently, the Internet. This makes the dissemination and attainment of information so much easier for many people today. It is the perfect combination of these two aspects that is the reason why even writing and publishing your own book is now made easier than ever before, especially with the help of various types of book editing software to increase the convenience of creating a book by leaps and bounds, or, should I say, by clicks and drags?
The following is a rudimentary list of book editing software you would need to cover every aspect of creating your very own book and having it ready for publishing:
Word Processor (Like MS Word)– This is the most basic of book editing software, as this allows you to actually write the content, the material of your work. This also allows you to edit written works that are saved in a format compatible to your word processor program, allowing you to correct any typos and wrong placements of punctuation that may have slipped by during the initial act of writing.
Digital Art Program (Link Corel Draw)– This piece of book editing software is used for any graphics your book may use: logos, artworks, photographs and the like are prepared for the book using this software. This may be further categorized into two types of programs: programs used to “create” graphics, and programs used to “edit” graphics that have been already made. Both are often used with one another in order to prepare any graphics content a book might have.
Layout Program (Link Adobe Indesign) – This is book editing software specifically created in order to oversee the compilation and arrangement of all the material and graphics content produced by the other two pieces of software into the final layout of the book. These programs will be able to show you exactly how your book will look like before it is saved as the final product: from the arrangement of elements on a certain page to the font of your page numbers, the layout software is the book editing software to turn to for the final product.
PDF Program (Link Adobe Acrobat) – This is sometimes bundled with the layout software, but in some cases it requires its own category. PDF files are the final output, the files that show exactly how the book will look like, and the PDF program is the book editing software that has the ability to both create and view PDF files. In addition, PDF files cannot be edited, allowing you to send and receive files to and from other people without fear of having your work copied and plagiarized.
