eReader Wars Heat Up as Apple Rejects Sony App PDF Print E-mail

The New York Times is reporting that Apple has rejected Sony’s iPhone Application. It seems that Apple no longer wants people using its devices to buy content within 3rd party apps. This is not surprising, as Apple has traditionally tried it best to keep their platforms as proprietary as possible, choosing not to play nice with other platforms and standards. I’m sure the Kindle and Nook apps are the next on apples hit list.

Apple has realized that they could make considerably more profits by making all content only available through them, getting their 30% cut. Unfortunately, this can only mean less content available and at a higher price for Apples customers.
